P0A1F Possible Symptoms

Illuminated engine light (or service engine soon warning light)

P0A1F Description

Battery Energy Control Module Internal Performance The Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) will diagnose its own systems and determine when a fault condition is present. System diagnostics and status are communicated from the Battery Energy Control Module to the Hybrid Powertrain Control Module via serial data. The Hybrid Powertrain Control Module is the host controller for Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) information. The EBECM monitor detects a controller random access memory (RAM), read only memory (ROM), erasable programmable read only memory (EPROM), or stack overflow. The EBECM sets the OBDII code when the RAM, ROM, EPROM, or controller stack overflow does not meet factory specifications.
This diagnostic applies to the microprocessor internal integrity conditions within the Battery Energy Control Module. This fault is internal to the Battery Energy Control Module and no external circuits are involved.
