- Fuel injector 2 harness is open or shorted
- Poor electrical connection in fuel injector 2 circuit
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
How to Fix Code P1227 BUICK?
Start by checking the “possible causes” listed above. Visually inspect the corresponding wiring harness and connectors. Look for damaged components and check for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.
Possible Symptoms
- Engine Light On (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
P1227 BUICK Meaning
The Engine Control Module (ECM) provides voltage to each fuel injector on the positive voltage injector control circuits. The ECM powers each fuel injector by grounding the control circuit for that fuel injector. The ECM monitors the status of the positive voltage injector control circuits and the fuel injector control circuits. When a fuel injector circuit condition is detected by the ECM, the affected fuel injectors will be disabled and may disable the relevant fuel injector group. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set when the ECM injector output driver detects incorrect current on a fuel injector circuit.
