P1174 VOLVO Meaning

The control module receives information from the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) about the fuel/air mixture at idle in both the lower and upper partial load ranges. If the fuel/air mixture deviates from λ = 1, the short-term fuel compensation will correct this by adjusting the injection time so that λ = 1 is achieved. When short-term fuel compensation makes an adjustment, the integrator median must be adjusted by the long-term compensation. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECM-260A is stored when the long-term trim needs to be set almost to the maximum in the upper partial load area.
