Description
The Variable Valve Timing (VVT) system controls the intake valve timing to achieve proper timing in response to driving conditions. The engine control module (ECM) controls the oil control valve (OCV) to ensure correct intake valve timing, and the oil pressure controlled by the OCV is supplied to the VVT controller. The VVT controller then changes the relative position between the camshaft and crankshaft. Code P1349 is triggered when the valve timing does not change from the current valve timing or when the current valve timing is fixed.

Check the “Possible Causes” listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.
