If the production Honda Prelude seems too tame for you, this Super GT version should definitely dispel any doubts.
A Radical Transformation for Competition
Honda has unveiled the Prelude GT500, announcing that it will replace the Civic Type R-GT starting from the 2026 season. While the production model sold in the United States is a 200 horsepower front-wheel drive, the race version sends 650 horsepower to the rear wheels. Surprisingly, the engine displacement remains the same at 2.0 liters, although the Super GT car’s engine is pushed to the extreme and abandons the hybrid system.

An Aggressive and Aerodynamic Aesthetic
Nothing was left to chance on the race Prelude. The bodywork incorporates practically every imaginable aerodynamic device, with deflectors, air intakes, and a rear wing on supports. The most remarkable element remains the exhaust that exits directly through the right door, promising spectacular flames with every acceleration.
A New Start for Honda in Super GT
Honda appears to be the only manufacturer launching a new model this year in Super GT, with Toyota retaining the GR Supra and Nissan the Z Nismo. These two models have proven very competitive, winning all the victories of the 2025 season so far. Honda, on the other hand, risks having its first winless season since 2016.

First Laps Imminent
The Prelude GT500 is set to conduct its first tests at Sportsland Sugo. If the car already looks extreme when stationary, its on-track behavior promises to be spectacular. Motorsport enthusiasts eagerly await the first videos of this machine in action.
