P2615 Possible Causes
- Faulty camshaft position sensor
- Camshaft position sensor harness is open or shorted
- Poor electrical connection in camshaft position sensor circuit
How to Fix P2615 Code
Check the “Possible causes” listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.
Possible Symptoms
Illuminated engine light (or service engine soon warning light)
P2615 Meaning
The camshaft position sensor is an electronic device used in an engine to record the rate at which the camshaft spins. This information is used by the Engine Control Module (ECM) to control ignition and fuel injection. The camshaft position sensor detects the retraction of the camshaft (intake) to identify a particular cylinder. The camshaft position sensor detects the position of the piston. The sensor system consists of a rotating part, typically a disk, as well as a static part, the actual sensor.
