P2591 Meaning
The front distance sensor detects reflected light from a vehicle ahead by radiating laser forward and calculates the distance to the vehicle ahead and relative speed. Based on the detected signal, the front distance sensor transmits the presence/absence of the vehicle ahead and the vehicle distance to the vehicle’s cruise control. When the vehicle’s cruise control loses communication with the front distance sensor, the cruise control requests the Engine Control Module (ECM) to set the OBDII code.
