What are the possible causes of the Dodge P1297 code?
- Faulty Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor
- Restricted Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor
- Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor harness is open or shorted
- Poor electrical connection in the Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor circuit
- Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)
How to fix the Dodge P1297 code?
Start by checking the “Possible Causes” listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.
What are the possible symptoms of the Dodge P1297 Code?
- Check Engine Light on (or Service Engine Soon warning light)
What does the Dodge P1297 code mean?
The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set when the Engine Control Module (ECM) does not detect any change in the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor voltage. Too small a difference is observed between the barometric pressure with the ignition on (engine running) and the manifold vacuum for more than 8.80 seconds.
