Posted by

P1247 BUICK Possible Causes

  • Faulty fuel injector 8
  • Fuel injector 8 harness is open or shorted
  • Poor electrical connection in fuel injector 8 circuit
  • Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

How is the P1247 BUICK code repaired?

Start by checking the “Possible Causes” listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.

Possible Symptoms

  • Engine light on (or service engine soon warning light)

P1247 BUICK Meaning

The Engine Control Module (ECM) provides voltage to each fuel injector on the positive voltage injector control circuits. The ECM powers each fuel injector by grounding the control circuit for that fuel injector. The ECM monitors the status of the positive voltage injector control circuits and fuel injector control circuits. When a fuel injector circuit condition is detected by the ECM, the affected fuel injectors will be disabled and may disable the related fuel injector group. The Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) will be set when the ECM injector output driver detects incorrect current on a fuel injector circuit.
