P1229 TOYOTA Meaning

Fuel must flow through the lines at an ideal pressure for your engine to function properly. A system failure can lead to system overload and an increase in pressure beyond the ideal range. Your Toyota’s fuel system is controlled by the fuel pressure regulator, and most overpressure issues will come from this part or its wiring. When there is a pressure problem in the system, a vehicle engine control module (ECM) fault code is stored; when the issue is excessive pressure, the dashboard will illuminate the SES or check engine light to indicate that code P1229 has been stored in your vehicle’s ECM.
