P1196 Meaning

The Electronic Throttle System (ETS) consists of an ETS unit, ETS motor, Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APS), Throttle Position Sensor (TPS), and a Limp Home valve.
Among the parts mentioned above, the Limp Home valve is mounted under the throttle body and helps air flow from the outside through this valve into the engine combustion chamber to prevent the vehicle from stalling the engine when the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects an ETS system malfunction.
