P115A Possible Causes
- Low fuel level
- Faulty fuel level sensor
- Fuel level sensor harness is open or shorted
- Poor electrical connection in fuel level sensor circuit
- Faulty instrument cluster
How to Fix Code P115A?
Start by checking the “possible causes” listed above. Visually inspect the corresponding wiring harness and connectors. Look for damaged components and check for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.
Technical Notes
Verify there is sufficient fuel in the tank. Check the fuel level sensor and circuits. If no faults are detected in the circuits, install a new fuel level sensor. Clear all codes and test for normal operation.
Possible Symptoms
- Engine light on (or service engine soon warning light)
P115A Meaning
Fuel level information is sent from the instrument cluster to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) on the communication link. If a low fuel level input message is received by the PCM from the instrument cluster, the PCM limits the Fuel Rail Pressure (FRP) and sets the DTC P115A.
