P1154 Possible Causes
- Faulty Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S), Bank 2 Sensor 1
- Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Bank 2 Sensor 1 harness is open or shorted
- Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S), Bank 2, Sensor 1 circuit, poor electrical connection
How to Fix Code P1154?
Start by checking the “possible causes” listed above. Visually inspect the corresponding wiring harness and connectors. Look for damaged components and check for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.
Possible Symptoms
- Engine Light On (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
P1154 Meaning
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) continuously monitors the activity of the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) for 100 seconds. During the monitoring period, the PCM counts the number of times the HO2S responds from rich to lean and from lean to rich and adds the time it took to complete all transitions. With this information, an average time for all transitions can be determined. The PCM then divides the rich-to-lean average by the lean-to-rich average to obtain a ratio.
