P1134 GMC Possible Causes
What does it mean?
- Faulty HO2S sensor, bank 1 sensor 1
- Open or shorted HO2S bank 1 sensor 1 harness
- Poor electrical connection in HO2S bank 1 sensor 1 circuit
How to fix P1134 GMC code?
Start by checking the “possible causes” listed above. Visually inspect the corresponding wiring harness and connectors. Look for damaged components and check for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.
When is the code detected?
P1134 is set if the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects that the HO2S ratio is not within range.
Possible Symptoms
- Check Engine Light on (or Service Engine Soon warning light)
P1134 GMC Meaning
The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) activity. During the monitoring period, the PCM counts the number of times the HO2S switches from rich to lean and from lean to rich and adds up the time it took to complete all transitions. With this information, an average time for all transitions can be determined. The PCM then divides the rich to lean average by the lean to rich average to obtain a ratio.
