P1125 FORD Possible Causes
- Faulty throttle position sensor
- Throttle position sensor harness is open or shorted
- Poor electrical connection in throttle position sensor circuit
How to Fix P1125 FORD Code?
Start by checking the “possible causes” listed above. Visually inspect the corresponding wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.
When is the Code Detected?
The Engine Control Module (ECM) detected the Throttle Position (TP) sensor voltage extending above or below calibrated limits
Possible Symptoms
Check Engine Light on (or Service Engine Soon warning light)
P1125 FORD Meaning
The Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) responds to the accelerator pedal movement. The TPS is a rotary potentiometer sensor that provides a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) that is linearly proportional to the throttle plate/shaft position. As the TPS is rotated by the throttle shaft, the following operating conditions are determined by the PCM:
• Closed throttle (includes idle or deceleration)
• Part throttle (includes cruise or moderate acceleration)
• Wide open throttle (includes maximum acceleration or crank flare)
• Throttle angle rate
