P111E Possible Causes
- Faulty intake air temperature sensor
- Intake air temperature sensor harness is open or short-circuited
- Poor electrical connection in the intake air temperature sensor circuit
How to Fix Code P111E?
Start by checking the “possible causes” listed above. Visually inspect the corresponding cable harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.
Possible Symptoms
Check engine light illuminated (or service engine soon warning light)
P111E Meaning
The intake air temperature (IAT) sensor detects the intake air temperature and sends a signal to the engine control module (ECM). The temperature sensing unit uses a thermistor that is sensitive to temperature changes. The electrical resistance of the thermistor decreases in response to rising temperature.
