P1100 TOYOTA Possible Causes

  • Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM)

How to Fix P1100 TOYOTA Code?

Start by checking the “possible causes” listed above. Visually inspect the corresponding wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.

Possible Symptoms

Check engine light on (or service engine soon warning light)

P1100 TOYOTA Meaning

The barometric pressure sensor (BARO) is integrated into the engine control module (ECM). It is a semiconductor pressure sensor whose properties cause its electrical resistance to change when stress is applied to the sensor crystal (silicon) (piezoelectric effect). This sensor is used to detect atmospheric (absolute) pressure and outputs corresponding electrical signals. Fluctuations in air pressure cause changes in intake air density, which can lead to deviations in the air-fuel ratio. The BARO sensor signals are used to correct these fluctuations. If the ECM detects DTC P1100, the fail-safe function operates and the atmospheric pressure is set to a constant 760 mmHg.
