P1052 – High Value in Air-Fuel Ratio Sensor 1 Heater Control Circuit, Bank 2

Posted by

P1052 Possible Causes

  • Faulty Air Fuel Ratio Sensor 1, Bank 2
  • Air Fuel Ratio Sensor 1, Bank 2 harness is open or shorted
  • Air Fuel Ratio Sensor 1, Bank 2 circuit poor electrical connection

How is code P1052 repaired?

Begin by checking the “Possible Causes” listed above. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.

When is the code detected?

The current amperage in the Heated Air Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor 1 heater circuit is outside the normal range. An excessively high voltage signal is sent to the Engine Control Module (ECM) through the Heated Air Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor 1 heater.

Possible Symptoms

Illuminated engine light (or service engine soon warning light)

P1052 Meaning

The Engine Control Module (ECM) performs ON/OFF service control of the Air Fuel Ratio (A/F) Sensor 1 heater corresponding to the engine operating condition to maintain the A/F Sensor 1 element temperature within the specified range.
