P0AFB – High Voltage of the Hybrid Battery System

Posted by

Possible Causes of P0AFB

  • Open 36-volt battery cable
  • Open hybrid battery pack fuse
  • Open hybrid battery contactor
  • Hybrid battery pack ground cable or connection

What Does It Mean?

How to Fix P0AFB Code

Check the “possible causes” listed above. Visually inspect the wiring harness and related connectors. Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.

P0AFB Symptoms

Possible symptoms

Engine light on (or service engine soon warning light)

P0AFB Meaning

The Engine Control Module (ECM) monitors the correlation between the battery disconnect control module battery voltage and the starter generator control module (SGCM) output voltage to detect a 36-volt cable open or a fuse/relay failure. The ECM also monitors for an overvoltage condition and protects the MOSFET (charge discharge). If any of these conditions are detected, the appropriate diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is set.
