B0014 BUICK Possible Causes
- Faulty left side impact module
- Left side impact module wiring harness is open or shorted
- Poor electrical connection in left side impact module circuit
- Faulty Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM)
How to Fix B0014 BUICK Code?
Start by checking the “possible causes” listed above. Visually inspect the corresponding wiring harness and connectors. Look for damaged components and check for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector pins.

B0014 BUICK Meaning
During a side or frontal collision of sufficient force, the Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) will allow current to flow through the deployment loop to deploy the side impact module. A shorting bar is located in the side impact module electrical connector. The side impact module high control circuit and the low control circuit are shorted together by the shorting bar when the electrical connector is disconnected. The shorting bar helps prevent unwanted deployment of the inflatable module during service. The SDM performs a continuous diagnostic test on the deployment loops to check for circuit continuity and shorts to ground or voltage. If the results of a deployment loop circuit test are out of specification, the B0014 code and appropriate symptom byte will be set.
